The palate is focussed and concentrated, with velvet tannins, subtle, spicey oak and a very long finish. Ideal for drinking now or will cellar well for drinking over the next 5 years. Food Matches: Meat and game dishes, flavoursome fish such as tuna and salmon, or as an aperitif.

Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 09 The colour is an almost clear pale straw. The bouquet has passionfruit and ripe pear notes overlaying a tropical fruit palate laced with hints of new mown grass and fresh tarragon followed by a lingering dry finish. Food Matches: The slightly acid finish suits fish and other seafood dishes, creamy pasta sauces and poultry.

Vicarage Lane Canterbury Gewürztraminer 2006 Intensely aromatic, with crushed rose petal and Turkish delight notes. Fragrant components give way to a pure, soft palate, with flavours of cloves, cardamoms and lychees. Food Matches: Excellent to drink now, chilled as an accompaniment to spicy or Asian foods, or will gain further complexities with cellaring.
